Parents Virtual Learning Series

Clayton County Public Schools has joined forces with Northstar Educational Consulting Group to present our parents and families with A Parent’s Guide to Virtual Learning Series. These webinars are to support parents and families through their at-home learning transition. Parental engagement is an essential part of a child’s academic success. Therefore, we want to: personalize the learning experience for parents and students; build a stronger relationship between home and school, and empower families to support their children’s learning and development. Together, we are stronger…we are here to support you!

Session 1: What Does School Look Like at Home?

Session 2: How Do I Meet My Child’s Needs?

Following an overwhelming response to market days held in April, Atlanta Motor Speedway, Hampton Elementary, and the Atlanta Community Food Bank are adding four market days in the month of May to help meet the need.

Mobile markets will be set up at the Speedway at 11 a.m. on four Fridays in May:

  • May 1
  • May 8
  • May 15
  • May 22

During each open market families may receive 30 to 40 pounds of food items free of charge, while supplies last. The market days are open to anyone in the community and supplies are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The May market days follow three market days held in the month of April. Overall, those market days provided food for more than 10,000 people.

"Hampton Elementary and Atlanta Community Food Bank have done a fantastic job recognizing and meeting the need of people who live in our community," said AMS Executive Vice President and General Manager Brandon Hutchison. "We're proud to work alongside them to help as many people as possible during these difficult times."

All items will be pre-bagged and placed in the backseat or trunk of vehicles of families who participate. All vehicles should enter via Atlanta Motor Speedway's main entrance off Highway 19/41.

The Georgia Parent Survey is also modeled after the student survey and contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone, or tablet. For parents who do not have access to the Internet, school administrators should consider scheduling dates and times to allow parents to complete the Georgia Parent Survey at school. All parents should be encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous, self-reported, and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below.

Summer Virtual Learning

This summer, CCPS is continuing to engage students in learning by hosting SummerTIME Virtual Learning sessions. The purpose of these sessions will be to extend learning opportunities in order to address the learning loss of essential knowledge and skills during the school year. Also, the aim is to leverage technology to provide a flexible and innovative option for student learning. This affords students an opportunity to continue learning creatively in preparation for a great start to School Year 2020-2021. Students still interested in participating in any of the SummerT.I.M.E. Programs must complete an online application:
